Details of the weekend bomb explosions in Maiduguri, Borno State
emerged yesterday as residents and rescue officials said at least 50
people died in the twin blasts while another 39 were killed in another
attack on Manoik, a village near the state capital by suspected Boko
Haram terrorists. Death toll may have risen to 100Twin blasts targeted
at a shopping centre and a viewing centre at Gomari-Bintu Sugar area of
Maiduguri occurred at about 6.05pm on Saturday.
Scores of football enthusiasts who were watching the evening English
Premier League matches were caught by the explosions believed to have
been hidden in a truck loaded with firewood and parked near the viewing
centre by the terrorists. The residents yesterday told the Deputy
Governor, Zannah Mustapha, during his visit that 46 people died on the
spot while over 60 injured persons were rushed to hospitals within the
metropolis. Hospital sources also said some of the victims later died
yesterday even as some were said to be in critical condition.
Mustapha expressed the sympathy of the governor and the government to
the people, adding that government would always identify with them in
their period of grief. He said the governor directed him to express his
condolence to the bereaved. He promised that government would assist the
victims and those whose shops were destroyed by the explosions to
assist them return to normal life. He directed the Chairman of Maiduguri
Metropolis Council (MMC) to compile a list of affected persons to help
government plan its palliative support for them.
The residents said they saw a truck loaded with firewood parked near
the shopping centre unknown to them that the vehicle was carrying bombs.
“We didn’t know it was going to be the source of our sorrow,” a
resident said amid tears. According to an account, two men reportedly
alighted from a truck loaded with firewood, “opened the vehicle bonnet as if trying to fixa fault”
and disappeared from the scene in a jiffy. “The truck exploded about 10
minutes later,” sources said. Some residents who were around the area
rushed to the scene ostensibly for rescue mission but the second bomb
went off immediately. “It was the second blast that killed many people
because those who moved toward the first scene were mostly affected,”
Aji Musa, a resident said.
The development prompted troops to launch stop and search operation
in the city early yesterday to track down possible movement of arms and
improvised explosive devices (IEDs) into the city. Many residents said
they were jolted by the discovery and return An official of the
National Emegency Management Agency (NEMA) said many people died and
injured but declined to give exact figure, insisting he is “not
authorized t do so.” He said both NEMA and Red Cross Society
collaborated with the police to rescue those suspected to have been
trapped. He, however, said no more corpses or victims were discovered in
yesterday’s rescue operation.
In another attack in Mainok, along Maiduguri Damaturu road, about 39
people died in the incident involving explosions and sporadic shooting,
security sources said. Mainok is about 55 kilomteres from Maiduguri. A resident, Mansur Buba, said gunmen suspected to be Boko
Haram laid a siege on the community at about 8pm. “We were still
discussing the bomb explosion in Maiduguri when we started hearing
gunshots and explosions everywhere. Almost all our houses have been
burnt. This morning (Sunday), we have recovered 39 bodies,” he said.

TEENAGE GIRL SUES BOTH MOTHER AND FATHER TO COURT......
A New Jersey teenager claiming that her mother and father tossed her out of their home and cut her off financially is suing them
for immediate support, current private-school fees and future college
tuition. The parents, meanwhile, say that daughter Rachel Canning, 18,
moved out voluntarily after refusing to abide by their rules. “We
love our child and miss her. This is terrible. It’s killing me and my
wife,” Rachel's father, Sean Canning, a town administrator and retired
police officer, tells the Daily Record. “We have a child we want home. We’re not Draconian and now we’re getting hauled into court. She’s
demanding that we pay her bills but she doesn’t want to live at home,
and she’s saying, ‘I don’t want to live under your rules.’” The rules,
he notes, include reconsidering her relationship with a boyfriend who
may be a bad influence, being respectful, and abiding by her curfew. He
and his wife, Elizabeth, who live in suburban Lincoln Park, about 25
miles outside of New York City, have kept their daughter’s car because
they paid for it, says Canning, and he admits that they did stop paying
Rachel's tuition at the private Morris Catholic High School. A hearing
is scheduled to take place on Tuesday in the Morris County Superior
Court.

GOVERNOR T.A. ORJI'S CHIEF OF STAFF PELTED WITH BAG OF PURE WATER AT ABA
The Chief of Staff to Governor T. A. Orji of Abia State, Cosmos
Ndukwe, yesterday at the Enyimba Stadium received a dose of what his
principal had been receiving from residents of Aba when he was pelted
with sachet water and ceaselessly booed. It was at the same stadium
among other places that Governor Orji was un-controllably booed in 2012
during the lying-in-state of the former Igbo leader, Chulwuemeka
Odumegwu by Aba residents for non-performance.
Ndukwe had entered the stadium shortly before the commencement of the CAF Champions league match between Enyimba International of Aba and Real Bamako of Mali, and minutes later, he went round the capacity filled stadium to acknowledge cheers from fans and per-haps see if there had been any change in the level of popularity of the present government in the city. Immediately he stood up from his seat and began to move round the stadium, Enyimba fans made no haste in ceaselessly booing and throwing (pure water) sachet at him, saying so many unprintable things against officials of the state government. It took the chief of staff courage for him to get back to his seat as not even the heavy presence of security operatives could deter the fans from booing and pelting him with sachet water.
When it appeared that the matter was over and Ndukwe was about to leave the stadium few minutes to the end of the match that Enyimba lost by 1-2, the fans began another round of booing and pelting of sachet water. Some of the fans, who spoke to Daily Sun after the incident, said they took the action to tell the world that Aba people were not happy with the present government in the state for failure to provide dividends of democracy to the people. They said the story could have been different if there were stones at the stadium, warning that un-less the government fixes Aba roads and provides other social amenities in the city, they would not be happy with it.

WHY FUEL SCARCITY WILL NOT END ANY TIME SOON
Failure of the Federal Government to allow the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) issue import allocations to fuel importers in advance has contributed to the fuel scarcity being witnessed in the country, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), Magnus Ngei Abe stated this in Abuja at the weekend. Sen. Abe also said the sack of former PPPRA Executive Secretary,
Reginald Stanley when the matter had not been resolved, may have also contributed to the fuel scarcity even as the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) said there was no plan to raise pump price. He said Nigeria’s four refineries (Kaduna Warri, Eleme and Port Harcourt) have not been working for so many months and when they did, “it has been very epileptic.” Abe noted that the Port Harcourt refiner has not worked for 10 months and efforts to rehabilitate the refineries have failed.
His words: “There’s fuel scarcity because PPPRA was not allowed to issue the import allocations in advance as was usually the case and the Executive Secretary has been removed. I don’t know whether he was removed because of the testimony he gave before the House of Representatives on this issue of kerosene allocation/subsidy. “I was no fan of the Executive Secretary of the PPPRA, but he did a fantastic job; he did a fantastic job of cleaning out the agency, he did a fantastic job of getting this whole issue of fuel subsidy under control and I’m worried that removing him at a time when the agency has never been so well run in its history, I don’t know in what other society that everybody can see that you are doing a good job and that is when you are removed!
“This man had cleaned up PPPRA and I don’t know why he would be removed when it was clear that he’s doing what the Nigerian people want…so, that’s why there’s scarcity because the allocations were not made….“In fact, the importers were even asking for permission in advance to bring in the product while the issue of who could bring in and who couldn’t was sorted out. But he couldn’t get the powers-that-be authorise that and that’s why everything is at a standstill.
“So, if there’s scarcity, my suspicion is that that may have induced the scarcity…Nigerians would not like to see the agency become another cesspit for corrupt practices”, Sen. Abe said. On why the refineries are not working optimally, Abe identified some factor including the controversial crude oil swap, book-keeping nightmare tendencies of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), non-existent Turn-Around Maintenance (TAM).“The refineries have not been working for some time now. I think, for the last 10 months, Port Harcourt refinery has no been operational and there’ve been issues consistently with the refineries
“Let me say that there are several things responsible for the non-operation of the refineries. I would say clearly that the issue of the fact that these refineries are not operating the way they should may be due to…there are lots of circumstances responsible for this. The crude oil swap may be part of the reasons that the refineries are not operating optimally because it appears to me that it is more profitable to swap oil than to refine i The nature of NNPC itself is a challenge. “Port Harcourt refinery refines the oil b they don’t own the oil. They are supposed to charge the PPMC to refine but PPMC doesn’t actually pay them…
So, everybody just transfer figures from one to the other and a the end of the day, the fund to run the refiner is simply not available! Meanwhile, the NNPC yesterday denied any plan to increase fuel price. The corporation said that as the supplier of last resort, it is doing everything within its mandate to alleviate the avoidable hardship caused by the fuel scarcity while reiterating the fact that the Federal Government has no plan to increase the price of petrol as being speculated. To douse the tension over the current scarcity, the NNPC said it has rolled out fresh measures to halt what it described as artificial shortage.
Acting Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Dr. Omar Farouk Ibrahim, stated in a statement that the NNPC in conjunction with the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) and PPPRA will commence detailed monitoring of fuel stations in Lagos and its environs as well as any other state to checkmate the incidence of hoarding and panic buying of fuel .

OMG""""BILL CLINTON SPOTTED WITH PROSTITUTES
Former US president Bill Clinton may have escaped the divorce papers during the 'Monica Lewinsky' case but with new pictures emerging online this weekend, showing him with confirmed hookers at a charity event in DC, Hilary Clinton could be filing new papers!
According to gossip site TMZ, "Bunny Ranch owner Dennis Hof [Brothel] says the two hookers who snapped a pic with Bill Clinton at a charity event last week were invited guests of his and nobody kicked them out of the party."
The popular American pimp continued by stating that he was approved by the charity to bring two dates to the Unite 4 Humanity event- Barbie Girl and Ava Adora - and even promoted the charity's party to his supporters via newsletter.”
Despite the fact that organizers of the charity event claim the prostitutes were later kicked out of the party, Mr. Hof says his entire group went through security and were given wristbands because they were all on the list ... and not one of them was kicked out of the party.
Big question is: How in the world did they get in and even got so close to the President?

The singer took offence to the actress' Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon’s speech last Thursday; which made reference of her controversial bleaching cream, Whitenicious.
According to the Beri Beri singer, Lupita had no right to discredit her hard-earned achievement.
Critics have blasted the singer for going to such extreme calling the Kenyan beauty a white man’s slave because, actually Lupita didn’t centre her speech on Dencia's move to change black women's skin color or encourage it. The truth is Lupita’s speech about Dencia's bleaching cream went thus:

END TIMES"""CHURCH BANS WOMEN FROM WEARING PANTIES AND BRAS TO SERVICE
It is really a thing of wonderment and shock as a church Kenya, the Lord's Propeller Redemption Church, has banned its female worshippers from wearing bras and panties while coming for services. According to respected Kenyan entertainment site, Nairobi Exposed,
the church located in Dandora, one of the ghettos in Nairobi, the
country’s capital, has forbidden the female worshippers from entering
the worship place with panties on.We learn that the move which was agreed on few weeks ago was in line with the need ‘for people to be free in body and spirit so as to receive Christ’. According to the site, the General Overseer of the church, Rev. Njohi, and the church council ‘outlawed the female worshippers from wearing the undergarments to the church, terming them as ungodly,’ and also warned them of severe consequences if they disobeyed the ‘divine orders’.
Recall that recently, the pastor of Helicopter of Christ Church, also in Nairobi, Pastor Thomas Wahome, told his members to pay money to enable him check their names in the book of life, while another South African pastor,Daniel Lesego ordered his members to eat raw grass as that would bring them closer to God.
Are we seeing the end times playing out in places of worship?

DEAR DAILY RIE, PLS MY GIRL FRIEND DOES NOT LIKE THE IDEA OF ME TO CUM IN HER MOUTH, WHICH FREAKS ME OUT SO WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Dear dailyrie,
I am ready to leave my girl friend if she stays rigid in bed. She doesn't want to grow up and be spontaneous. For over 10 years she's still bent on the old-school sex system and I'm totally tired of it. It’s boring. She can't give me a blow job because it's too nasty and now I need her to receive my sperm in her mouth and she's not spoken to me since. Funny thing is, I still love but she's not irreplaceable.

HE MUST SURELY DIE AND BE BURIED....................SAYS FAMILY OF SLAIN BANKER
There is justifiable joy among the friends, colleagues and family of
slain banker, Titilayo Omozoye Arowolo, that the antics of her husband,
Akolade Arowolo who murdered her, claiming that he was insane so that he
could escape the hangman’s noose, did not deceive Justice Lateefat
Okunnu, the judge that presided over the homicide case. Convinced by the
overwhelming evidence presented by the prosecution, the judge found
Akolade guilty and accordingly sentenced him to death by hanging.
For members of Titilayo’s family, the death sentence passed on the murderer of their beloved daughter is a just recompense in the eyes of the law, which should take its course, even though, they said Akolade had been forgiven by them for the grief he caused the family through the gruesome murder. In the wake of the death sentence pronounced on Akolade, colleagues of Titilayo at the Marina, Lagos branch of Skye Bank, who spoke with Sunday Sun, also said they were pleased with the judgment. Speaking through their lawyer, Mr. Nelson Ekoh, on the outcome of the murder case, the family of slain Titilayo said: “We don’t feel he should die but the law demands so.
The principle of capital punishment is that if you took somebody’s life unjustly, you must by right forfeit your life too. And again, the case was be-tween Arowolo and the Government of Lagos State, not between the Oyakhires. The only thing we did was to appear in court to give evidence when our family was summoned. And we owed the society a duty to do that. So it is a pity that he was sentenced to death. Nobody wanted anyone to die. But then, if the law says he should die, he must die. That is it. As Christians, the Oyakhires have forgiven Arowolo but that does not mean we should not do what is required of us by the law, by giving evidence about the murder of Titilayo.
That was also the day he stabbed her to death. I recall her fondly saying, ‘This period is for me and my husband,’ with glowing smile spreading across her beautiful face.” When the reporter contacted the father of Akolade Arowolo in the family apartment in a cream two-storey building in Ejigbo, Lagos, the elderly man looked visibly disturbed. He simply said, “No comments”, when asked of his views on the death sentence passed on his son.
He, however, added that his family lawyer was heading for the Appeal Court. “There is no comment to make. Our lawyer is already appealing on the judgment. So, no comments,” he said.

BREAKING NEWS""""""MAIDUGURI BOMBED
Bomb explosions targeted at a shop-ping mall and commercial area by
suspected Boko Haram bombers in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital left
many residents dead and others injured yesterday evening. Deafening
sound from the first blast had barely subsided around the city at about
6.05pm, when another blast reverberated about two minutes later in same
area.
The twin explosion, according to eyewitnesses, occurred near a shopping complex at Ajilari Bintu Sugar, Gomari ward of Maiduguri. “Many were killed,” a resident who lives near the scene said, adding that many residents “are already fleeing the area.”
A police source said a car laden with explosive devices (IEDs) and parked near the shopping complex went in flame as the blast wreaked havoc. “Many people are trapped in the shop because they are usually open till about 8pm. Unfortunately, it is week-end when many residents go shopping. Some had just stopped there to buy items for their families when the explosion occurred,” the source said. Sunday Sun gathered that many residents fled the area after the blast.
“Women and children are among those killed,” a source who visited the scene minutes after the explosion said. He added that men of the state fire service and emergency services were drafted to the scene immediately to evacuate the dead and injured. “The fire service men and others are already evacuating corpses now. Some policemen are also near the place,” he said further. Pandemonium gripped residents of Maiduguri following the blast as people scurried to their homes.
The youth volunteers were also drafted to many parts of the metropolis to conduct stop and search, leading to a heavy traffic jam.
